Day 5, Skykomish to Leavenworth WA

Gail Husson on a bike trip on the Northern route

GailBikes

This was our 1st challenging day of riding, 50 mi. with 3,400 ft climb- the climb was all in the first 16 miles, up to Steven’s Pass at 4,000 ft. Stopped at Deception Falls along the way. Drizzle & light rain on the climb up made for a chilly descent.  Thankfully, our support van was at the top of the pass, giving us an opportunity to add layers of clothing etc. before descending! The last part of the route was a slight descent along the roaring Wenatchee River.
