5/14 Day Zero in Eureka, CA

We planned to take a zero day in Eureka to sightsee, though we had a zero rain day in Crescent City a few days ago.We rented a car to visit the Redwood National and State Park to hike. It was interesting to drive the roads that we cycled. A ride that took us five hours by bike was only 1.5 hours in a car. We only hiked for 2.5 hours since Erika was tired. Lucky me!

An aggressive male bull chased a hiker the prior week and warning signs were posted

A fallen redwood tree was hallowed out and burnt. I was able to walk the length of the tree. Next two pictures are related

Ferms grow under redwood trees, on rotted and fallen trees, and the side of trees.
