RAWLINS TO CAMPSITE BEFORE ASPEN ALLEY – 52.9 miles

Our motivation for today’s route is leaving the wind, sage bush, and Wyoming! The first 25 miles were supposed to the on pavement but the pavement ended at mile 6 and we were on maintained gravel for the rest of the day. The days route was mostly long rollers one half to one mile long. Long steep rollers. We did not mind it so much since the gravel road was maintained and the views were beautiful.

We camped in a dispersed camp spot we referred to as cow patty camp #3. There was more elk dropping than cow But it had the same effect, the feeling that you’re sleeping in a toilet!
