Bannack to Dillon – Rest day at the Joerger Bike Retreat

Sue Joerger’s parents who live most of the year in Burlingame, CA have a summer home in Dillon, MT. Avid fly fishers, they enjoy the  easy access to world class rivers from Dillon. Dillion is 26 miles from Bannack and we decided to take a rest day in Dillion and stay at the “Joerger Bike Retreat”.

We rode on the interstate and climbed (…) pass and then a quick downhill ride to Dillon. Dillon is the county seat of Beaverhead county and is also home to The University of Montana Western. It’s a small town where people wave at you, kids play outside and roam the streets, and cars drive slowly and let pedestrians pass.

The Joerger’s are kind people who invited us into their comfortable home for two days. You can see where Sur gets her humor after 5 minutes with her parents. We enjoyed laughing and joking while we sat and talked. Just a lovely and enjoyable visit!
